Sydney-based charcoal chicken chain El Jannah has just welcomed its first customers to its debut drive-thru location.
The new setup opened its doors this past Saturday, August 8th, to charcoal chicken disciples from all over the harbour city craving its famed garlic sauce and cooked chook staple. Those keen on the full experience can also opt to dine-in rather than stay in their cars if they wish.
The cult restaurant chain made a name for itself in Sydney’s western suburbs of Blacktown, Campbelltown, Punchbowl, Granville, Kogarah and Penrith before taking one step closer to the CBD with the opening of a Newtown venue last year.
In 2020, the drive-thru on Smithfield Road is the start of a new era for the charcoal chicken institution, which coincidentally follows the opening of famed Portugues chicken hub Frangos’ first stab at a drive-thru last month.
Both restaurants are regulars in Boss Hunting’s ‘Lunch Run’ series. You can watch the El Jannah episode here and Frangos episode here for a verdict on which deserves your coin next lunch break, then check out the menu at eljannah.com.au.
