The strong bond between the former US President and current Canadian Prime Minister shows no signs of slowing. As Trumpโ€™s actions further distance the US political agenda from their northern neighbours, itโ€™s his predecessor Barack Obama who is keeping the relationship alive.

Trump and Trudeau havenโ€™t quite emulated the spark held by the former President and his Canadian counterpart. Anti-trade, along with more recent climate change policies, indicate this isnโ€™t about to change.

Obama may no longer have a pad at the White House but that doesnโ€™t mean his role is over. After giving a speech to the Montreal Board of Trade, Obama and Trudeau met for a candle-lit dinner; on the menu โ€œtheir shared commitment to developing the next generation of leaders.โ€

The two exited the popular Montreal seafood establishment to find a crowd of hundreds cheering at them from across the road.
