- $1 million will be up for grabs at the forthcoming Australian Open thanks to the tournamentโs unprecedented pro-am Million Dollar 1 Point Slam.
- 10 amateurs selected from all across the country will go head-to-head with proven pros, such as world no. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, for a chance at life-changing prize money.
- But will scoring a single point against elite ATP names prove to be too difficult for the average punter?
Itโs the stuff of workplace watercooler hypotheticals and classic pub chat, but come January 2026, it could very well become your reality: score a single point in tennis against the #1-ranked Carlos Alcaraz (along with every other pro on the road to glory) and become an instant millionaire.
In a world-first, the next Australian Open will also be hosting whatโs been dubbed the Million Dollar 1 Point Slam as part of the grand slamโs expanded Opening Week โ pitting 22 pros against 10 amateurs from all across the country to make a name for themselves and, of course, claim their seven-figure fortune.

The winner of the final match, scheduled to be played at Rod Laver Arena (pro or amateur), pockets the cool milly.
โEntries will open soon at clubs across the country, and during Opening Week, finalists will compete for a chance to face the pros on Rod Laver Arena,โ explained AO Tournament Director Craig Tilley.
โWith more big names to be announced soon, you now have a million reasons to pick up a racquet and get ready for January.โ
You know what to do: head down to your local courts and start drilling those Kyrgios-style serves and dropshots.
