Yoga pants are probably what comes straight to mind when you hear the name Lululemon, but the brand does a range of clothing verticals well — from great golf shirts to brilliant boxer briefs.

Now, for the first time, the American apparel brand is bringing its range of running shoes to Australia, so you can rock the Canadian apparel brand head to toe the next time you manage to make it to run club.

In total, there will be six different silhouettes covering the entire gamut of casualwear, running, and training; with specific designs based on general biomechanical and foot morphology differences between male and female feet. These differences — as well as thoughtful consideration of how the shoes might be worn — have allowed Lululemon to create a product with “superior fit”.

“At Lululemon, every product we make is designed to embody our feel-first philosophy, which is rooted in the belief that when you feel your best, you perform your best,” said Sun Choe, Lululemon Chief Product Officer. “With new performance running shoes and our first-ever casual sneakers we can now outfit both men and women in versatile gear from head to toe.”

Of the six different silhouettes that will be made available, the beyondfeel running shoe, beyondfeel trail (arriving in May), cityverse casual sneaker, and restfeel slide are designed for unisex wear. Styles exclusively for women include the chargefeel and strongfeel shoes.

While the product names in Lululemon’s new shoe range evoke Chat GPT channeling a high school football coach it’s probably safe to assume that the brand has spent a lot of time thinking about ergonomics. If the results are even half as comfortable as the brand’s best-selling shapewear, then they’ll be a ubiquitous sight all over the Aussie east coast in no time.

Lululemon shoes will be available in stores and online from March 19th, 2024 in Australia.
