If you talk to any watch enthusiast worth their salt, when the subject of the A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 inevitably arises, their eyes are almost guaranteed to light up in awe and appreciation. It’s about as good as modern, complicated dress watches get, and this year, the team at A. Lange & Söhne has blessed us with an all-new reference in the super-legible and highly functional Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar “Lumen”.

Beyond the fresh Lange 1, we’ve also got a pair of universally wearable Saxonia Annual Calendars that each deliver their own captivating personalities. As we’ve come to expect from A. Lange & Söhne (a watchmaker that only produces around 5,000 watches a year), it’s a restrained, but impressive line-up for 2026 that’s guaranteed to turn collectors’ heads.

A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar “Lumen”

This Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar “Lumen” arrives as just the third-ever luminous reference within the collection, but takes the crown for most complicated by incorporating a tourbillon (with stop seconds) and a perpetual calendar (with a peripheral month ring and instantaneously display changes).

What’s so special about A. Lange & Söhne’s “Lumen” range is based on the principles of contrast and transparency that work so harmoniously together. Featuring smoky, semi-transparent dials, UV light can pass through to the luminous compound that’s used to treat the underlying dial displays to create an almost spooky impression that allows wearers to read the time no matter the lighting conditions.

Cased in 41.9mm of platinum and measuring 13mm in thickness, it’s a watch you certainly won’t forget you’ve got on your wrist, while within the hefty case is the automatic calibre L225.1 with 50 hours of power reserve. As you’d expect to see on any watch to leave the A. Lange & Söhne factory, the movement has been finished to a truly breathtaking standard, with various elements black polished and engraved for an effect you’ll never forget once you see it.

The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar “Lumen” arrives as a limited edition of 50 pieces.

A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar

Rounding out A. Lange & Söhne’s collection is this duo of Saxonia Annual Calendar, cased in either white gold with a silvered dial or pink gold with a cool grey dial. Restrained in their styling in a way that’s unmistakably the product of German watchmaking, they both feature a large date display at 12 o’clock and subdials showing the month, moonphase, and day at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, respectively.

As is always the case with annual calendar watches (as opposed to perpetual calendars), the date must be manually advanced once a year, either on the 28th of February or the 29th during leap years. Thankfully, it’s a straightforward process, with A. Lange & Söhne developing intuitive correctors for each individual display, or via the crown, where you can adjust them together.

Cool, calm, and undeniably collectable, both new Saxonia Annual Calendar references are almost universally wearable thanks to their 36mm case diameter and 9.8mm profile, making them the perfect companion for just about anyone who wants to elevate their everyday. Thankfully, neither of these new references is a limited edition.
