Netflix has released the first official trailer for its upcoming action-comedy series Fubar, starring none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. The eight-episode series, Arnie’s first TV project ever, was announced just a few months ago with the action legend, bodybuilder and former Governor of California playing the lead role with support from Top Gun: Maverick’s Monica Barbaro and from the trailer things are shaping up quite nicely.

Former Sopranos writer Nick Santora will serve as showrunner and executive producer of the new Netflix show which is set to arrive on Netflix on May 25, 2023 and follows a father (Arnie) and daughter (Barbaro) who are, unbeknownst to each other, both CIA agents who are sent on a mission to find a weapon of mass destruction.

Blending a family drama with a spy thriller has been done before but the Fubar trailer plays out quite nicely, giving us a good look at a man we haven’t seen take on a role since Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019. Arnie portrays veteran CIA operative Luke Brenner, clashing with his Barbaro’s Emma once their assignments converge and they both discover each other’s secret, adding to an already complex family dynamic.

Schwarzenegger and Barbaro star in Fubar alongside Jay Baruchel as Carter, Aparna Brielle as Tina, Andy Buckley as Donnie, Milan Carter as Barry, Fortune Feimster as Ruth (or Roo), Barbara Eve Harris as Dot, Gabriel Luna as Boro, Fabiana Udenio as Tally, plus Travis Van Winkle as Aldon.

You can watch the official Fubar trailer above ahead of its arrival on Netflix Australia in just over a month.
