Media, VIPs and JLC’s esteemed customer network descended on Carriageworks last week for the Australian premiere of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris. Hosted by friend of the brand and rugby legend John Eales, the evening was a celebration of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s all-new collection inspired by the iconic Jaeger-Memovox that debuted in 1968.

Fuelled with fantastic cocktails, guests enjoyed a dramatic unveiling of the watches following an acoustic performance from Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning. Taking centre stage were the five pieces from the new Polaris Collection including a reimagined Memovox limited to 1000 units worldwide. Alongside the Polaris, Memovox were the four Polaris models that will make up the permanent collection including a vintage-inspired Polaris Date, a three-hand automatic, Chronograph and Chronograph World Timer.

Aimed at today’s ‘man of action’ the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris redefines the concept of elegant sports watch channelling the best of the Grande Maison’s watchmaking tradition with handsome dials, useful functions and interchangeable straps. The five releases range from 41 to 44mm in diameter, featuring JLC in-house movements, brushed and hand polished surfaces with both a contemporary rubber strap and a newly designed three-link bracelet on offer.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection adds a new level of accessibility to the revered brand with a versatile, everyday watch, ready to tackle the office or the outdoors. It’s an exciting move, sure to entice newcomers to the brand as well as existing JLC enthusiasts longing for a sporter variant from their favourite manufacturer.

Local pricing TBC. Check out the Jaeger-LeCoultre website for more info on each.
