IWC Schaffhausen’s Big Pilot Roadshow landed on the sparkling shores of Sydney Harbour this past weekend for its biggest showcase of watches and lifestyle in the city yet.

The striking brand pop-up dominated the iconic Circular Quay foreshore from August 24th-27th after another lap around the world since its takeover of Melbourne’s Federation Square last February.

A celebration of horology, talent, and the brand’s iconic partnerships – the global phenomenon has made over 25 stops on its global tour since its inception in Edinburgh back in 2021. Housed within striking industrial shipping containers, the high-tech product showcases allowed residents and visitors of Sydney alike to get hands-on with the best from the Swiss brand’s iconic Pilot’s Watches collection.

The Big Pilot naturally took centre stage as the North Star timepiece for the brand’s commitment to a practical legacy. The once-functional tool for aviators has evolved into a bold, oversized wrist statement with an undeniable presence in horological circles and collections the world over. Hero collections such as the ceramic TOP GUN models and exclusive IWC materials were deconstructed for viewers to observe the meticulous manufacturing process of the watches.

Naturally, however, given its absolute pole position, this wasn’t just any other Roadshow. In partnership with yours truly, an IWC-branded Pardo 43 luxury cruiser shuttled VIP clients and lucky Boss Hunting readers alike to the spectacle from Rose Bay at sunset across each day of the weekend. Champagne flowed as the Italian-built cruiser glided towards the Quay and guests were dropped right at the footsteps of the Roadshow after an effortless 15-minute journey.

At the Roadshow itself, a glorious example of Mercedes-AMG’s SL63 standing in the courtyard gave the automaker’s partnership with IWC a striking physical presence (priced at a spicy ~$400k, of course). Cocktails from local distillers Archie Rose were served to invited guests and a soundtrack of groovy tunes accompanied four stellar winter sunsets in the Harbour City.

If you missed your chance to get hands on with some of the best from IWC, you can still get your fix for the iconic brand at their Sydney Boutique. And, in what is fortuitous timing with Roadshow, IWC Schaffhausen’s Chadstone Boutique in Melbourne also made its debut last week, opening for the first time on the luxury retail complex’s ground floor.
