Hip-hop producer-turned-rapper Diddy celebrated his 50th birthday with a huge party at his L.A. mansion over the weekend. The guest list was a who’s who of the entertainment world, but one guest who really made an impact was none other than fellow mogul Jay-Z.

Last night was one of those nights I’ll never forget. But something that sticks out to me is what my young creative @kaito put together with @vanityfair. All I can say is wow!! I’ve watched you grow from just a photographer to someone who captures beautiful art. Looking at these images makes me so proud. Thank you King! #DIDDY50 and thank you @natmoar
The Jigga Man was photographed with Diddy rocking an AU$3.2 million Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime ref. 6300G. This is the most recent iteration of the Grandmaster Chime, with the original (ref. 5175) released in 2016 as part of Patek’s 175th-anniversary celebrations.
The most complicated watch ever made by Patek, only six of these OG pieces were made, with each 5175 coming in an engraved yellow-gold case. This latest release sported by Jay is a white-gold version with black and white dials. It’s an extremely limited release, with only a dozen or so believed to have been manufactured, as Hodinkee suggest.
While details are sparse on the specs, if it’s similar to the 5175 (which it appears to be), this latest Grandmaster Chime comes in a 47mm case with manually wound mechanical movement and five chiming modes, two of which were first invented when the 5175 was released three years ago.
Hov has made a smart investment purchasing this super rare timepiece, with a one-of-a-kind Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime selling at auction for a cool $45 million earlier this year.
As Jay likes to say, “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business man.”
